Listing a repair business on Repairs.company is free. Here is how to do it, and how to set it up so it appears in the right places.

Step by step

  1. Create a business account at /register/business.
  2. Verify your email address.
  3. Fill in your listing: business name, primary category, description, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number, website and hours. If you take emergency work, turn on the emergency availability option.
  4. Choose any other repair categories you offer, set your service area and tick how you work.
  5. Submit it. A person reviews each new listing before it appears.

Choosing categories

Your primary category should be the work you do most. You can add up to 12 more categories that you also offer. There are 40 kinds of repair to choose from, such as Appliance Repair, Small Engine Repair and Restaurant Equipment Repair.

Only pick categories you actually take on. A customer who finds you under a repair you don't do is a wasted call for both of you.

Setting your service area

In the listing form you set a service radius in miles, from 5 to 100. If you don't choose one, it is 20 miles. You can also name extra towns, ZIP codes and counties you cover, which is useful if you travel further in one direction than another.

Your listing appears on the page of every town inside that area, and on that town's page for each repair you offer. Among listings without a paid plan, businesses are ordered by distance from the town, measured from where each business is based, then by rating. A wider area puts you on more town pages; it doesn't change where you are based.

Tell customers how you work

Tick the options that apply: comes to you, drop-off / in-shop, pickup & delivery, same-day service, free estimates, warranty on repairs, homes and businesses. Visitors can filter by these, so leaving them blank can keep you out of filtered results.

Write a useful description

Say plainly what you fix, which makes or models you work on, and anything a customer should know before calling, such as whether there is a call-out fee. Keep your hours and phone number up to date.

Optional paid plans

A free listing stays free. If you want to be placed higher on the pages you appear on, see Plans and pricing.
